MIKE 2026
Leak Locator for Pipe Breaks
A new simulation automatically detects zones where the minimum night flow (MNF) has increased, helping identify potential pipe failures. Available for online models, this feature pinpoints likely leakage locations within the network. When a real-world pipe break occurs, the model analyses telemetry data to guide users in locating the source of water loss quickly and accurately.
Animation Playback Skip
New playback settings in the Animation tool let users skip animation steps during playback. This enhancement streamlines navigation through complex animations, improving efficiency and overall user experience when reviewing or presenting simulation results.
Abandoned Pipe Status
The pipe status options now include an “abandoned” state, allowing users to mark pipelines as inactive within the hydraulic model. This ensures the model accurately reflects real network conditions. Abandoned pipes remain excluded from simulations but stay visible on the map with distinct symbology for clear reference and documentation.
MIKE 2025 Update 1
Access the updated User’s Guide for Water Distribution Online
- We’ve updated the User’s Guide for the Water Distribution Online module in MIKE WaterNet Advisor. The new version follows a clearer, step-by-step format that matches the typical process of building a digital twin.
- It also includes a recommended workflow example and can be used as a template for your own implementation guide—great for standardising your setup and making onboarding smoother.
Receive disk space alerts now included in Lifesign monitoring
- The Water Distribution Online module now keeps an eye on your data drive’s free space. If disk space runs low, you’ll receive a warning to help prevent disruptions in the online model’s operation.
- This adds an extra layer of reliability - making it easier to catch issues before they affect your system.
Achieve improved accuracy for cumulative contact time simulations
- We've refined how cumulative contact time is calculated when focusing on specific pipe materials.
- Storage tanks are now excluded from resident time accounting, resulting in more accurate and realistic simulation results.
- This update is especially useful when assessing material-specific water quality impacts in your network.
Enhance shutdown planning with model-based valves
- Shutdown analysis now supports isolating valves defined directly in the hydraulic model, not just from GIS layers.
- This makes it easier to identify isolating pipe segments when your model includes all physical valves—offering a more accurate and flexible approach to planning network shutdowns.
