MIKE 2026 Update 1 brings new tools for smarter water modelling
DHI has released MIKE 2026 Update 1, the latest update to the MIKE Powered by DHI software suite. The release introduces new capabilities across several core products, helping engineers and water professionals streamline workflows, improve result interpretation and gain greater flexibility when modelling and managing complex water environments.
MIKE 2026 Update 1 is available at no additional cost to customers with an active Service Maintenance Agreement (SMA) or subscription.
What's new in MIKE 2026 Update 1
- MIKE+ introduces a range of enhancements designed to simplify simulation workflows and improve hydraulic and flood modelling. New dynamic result viewing enables users to analyse outputs while simulations are still running, accelerating model evaluation and decision-making. Custom result units make outputs easier to interpret and report, while updates to the Create Flood Raster tool strengthen flood mapping capabilities and improve 1D–2D model integration.
- FEFLOW 11 introduces the new Structural Model Editor, enabling users to build geological models directly within the FEFLOW interface. The new workflow eliminates the need for third-party geological modelling software and is complemented by enhanced Python integration, making it easier to automate model preparation and test multiple model configurations.
- WEST introduces new capabilities for wastewater treatment process modelling and dynamic WWTP performance analysis. Highlights include an NDHA model extension for improved N₂O predictions, additional SBR models, enhanced Biofilter process descriptions, support for High Purity Oxygen (HPO) aeration and improved dashboard plot handling for easier result analysis and comparison.
- MIKE WaterNet Advisor enhances Leak Locator with new pressure and flow sensor layers plus pressure and flow difference metrics, improving network analysis and leak detection. The release also adds alphabetically sorted bookmarks and a Quick Search for easier map navigation, along with a new Common Edits field for configuring storage tank overflow in hydraulic simulations.
- MIKE OPERATIONS streamlines MIKE+ model registration with support for auto-approval, input and output preparation, and start/end time configuration, reducing manual setup and improving workflow consistency. The release also introduces ready-to-use coastal and marine forecasting with MIKE 21 FM, including decoupled workflows and particle tracking for more efficient spill modelling and marine analysis.
