DHI CityFlow Live
One platform to monitor, optimise, and future-proof your urban water system
Water utilities today face mounting challenges: stricter regulations, ageing infrastructure, and growing sustainability demands. Making the right decision at the right time is critical—but without accurate data, the risks of costly mistakes, misappropriated investments, and inefficiencies increase dramatically.
DHI CityFlow Live is a decision intelligence platform that unifies urban water data across your systems—from collection systems to treatment plants and receiving waters. Acting as a digital advisor, it equips planning and operations engineers and managers with real-time, actionable insights to optimise performance, reduce overflows, improve water quality, and plan future infrastructure with confidence.

Questions? We have answers.
How do I get access to DHI CityFlow Live ?
DHI CityFlow Live is not a program you install yourself. To give you access, our team creates an account on MIKE Cloud for your organisation, sets up the relevant geographical region, and issues login credentials for your staff. Once that is done, you simply sign in via a web browser.
For basic data access and visualisation, it's as straightforward as logging in. However, if you need real-time forecasting or planning scenarios, there will be some additional setup steps. Our team will work with you to implement any necessary local adaptations, configure data imports for your specific systems, and register the relevant models for your area. While this requires some initial coordination, we handle the technical complexity to ensure everything works seamlessly for your organisation.
What information do you need from us to create our account?
We ask for basic details about your organisation (name, billing information and contact persons), the geographic area you wish to monitor, and the number of users. This allows us to create the correct workspace, ensure regulatory compliance for your location, and assign the right permissions to each user.
We already have models and data. Can they be used with DHI CityFlow Live ?
Yes. If you have existing hydraulic models, GIS layers or other data sets, we can migrate them so that you start with a familiar baseline. Because each utility has its own data formats and modelling conventions, we treat this as a tailored advisory project. Our specialists prepare and validate the data, handle any necessary model conversions, and help you integrate everything with real‑time feeds.
Do we need to install anything locally?
In general, no. DHI CityFlow Live runs in the cloud, and you access it through a supported web browser. For organisations that prefer an on-premises solution, DHI CityFlow Live can also be installed locally on your infrastructure.
How long does it take to go from sign‑up to a working system?
For straightforward setups, where you only need account creation and basic configuration, it often takes a few working days once we have your organisational details. If you require model migration or complex data connections, the timeline depends on the size and complexity of the data and how quickly we receive the necessary files.
What kind of support and training do you offer?
During the setup phase, our advisors work with you to configure the system and, if necessary, to migrate models and data. We offer introductory training sessions for new users and can provide customised workshops if you have specific needs. After the system is live, you can access ongoing technical support and additional training through our support portal.
Is there a trial or evaluation period?
We don’t offer a self‑service download or time‑limited licence. Instead, we provide guided demonstrations using either sample data or your own data. This lets you see how the platform works and ask questions of our experts. If you then choose to proceed, we’ll register your organisation and start the configuration process.
How can we help?
With our global network of offices, we make sure you get the right answers to your local needs. Tell us about your water challenges and we will get back to you.
