The delegation represents 60 innovative Danish companies from the Healthcare, Agriculture and Food, Clean Tech and Maritime sectors – all of which are leading economic sectors in Denmark. Companies operating within other sectors will also participate.
The trade promotion delegation will have separate activities during the days of 27-30 September 2016. Please see Programme and List of Participating Companies.
The United States and Denmark have long enjoyed a close and mutually beneficial relationship and the trade relations between the two countries are strong. The U.S. is Denmark's largest non-European trade partner and over the last 10 years, Denmark’s trade with the U.S. has increased significantly.
It is expected that a strengthened partnership between the two countries will benefit both countries in terms of economic growth, job creation and in – and outgoing investments.
DHI has long lasting, fruitful relations with US businesses and institutions in the water sector and we anticipate that these relations will be further strengthened as a result of the delegation trip.
DHI will be part of the delegation, represented by
- Stephen Blake (Head of Department for Water Resources at DHI-US)
- Dr. Frank Thomsen (Senior Scientist, Group Sales Executive – Marine Regulators and Authorities, DHI-DK).
- Mikael Kamp Sørensen (Department Head, Environment and Ecology, DHI-DK)
In a session together with Abigail Hopper, Director of BOEM, and Pernille Hermansen, DONG’s Project Manager for Environment and Consent, Frank Thomsen will hold a lecture on de-risking environmental issues for US offshore wind farms at the US Offshore Wind Academy in Boston.
The event, which is organised by the Trade Council of Denmark in the US, will bring Danish and US offshore wind farm players together on the last day.
Frank Thomsen says, “I am very much looking forward to some exciting days in Washington and Boston and hope to meet as many stakeholders, business partners and clients as possible”.
