The Ambassador of Denmark to Australia, His Excellency Børge Petersen, presented the accolade to DHI Australia’s Managing Director, Jørgen Erik Larsen, on 29 October 2014.
The medal is awarded in recognition of outstanding effort in promoting Danish products and services abroad. In 1982, the National Association for Danish Enterprise founded this prestigious award together with the Royal Danish Court and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In recent years, DHI Australia has witnessed significant growth in the Australian market for water and environment, operating on an effective business model that has boosted sales revenue throughout the DHI Group.
‘The Australian market for software solutions in water and environment is very demanding. Customers want high quality and advanced technology, and it is precisely here that DHI Australia has found a niche,’ said Peter Rasmussen, our Chief Financial Officer.
Michael T. Hansen, Consul General and Trade Commissioner of Denmark to Australia, said, ‘Their business model greatly draws on the resources and expertise of DHI’s global offices, so that solutions can be provided at competitive prices.’
The judging committee included HRH Prince Henrik of Denmark as well as representatives from the Danish Export Association and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ‘We are honoured to receive this award,’ Jørgen Erik Larsen added. ‘It is a tribute to our committed team in Australia. With Australia’s demand for high-tech solutions of impeccable quality and our aspiration and determination to deliver, we see huge potential for the future.’
On why we were chosen to receive this honour, our Executive Vice President Tom Foster shared, ‘DHI Australia is at the forefront of DHI’s drive towards integrating simulation tools with decision support systems. The team has implemented a successful shift in the positioning of our consultancy business towards cutting edge consultancy services not available through traditional engineering consultants.’
Congratulations to our team in Australia!
