Reservoir sedimentation study for a Himalayan storage scheme located in Bhutan. The study included systematic analyses of field data for assessment of sediment load (including rare events such as GLOFs and large landslides) and long-term modelling of deposition pattern.

Well-field and water resources management in the Hove å river basin west of Copehagen
New permits for the well-fields of the Copenhagen water company will be based on principles of sustainability in relation to the groundwater resource itself and also river quality and nature protection in general. (as also included in the EU Water Framework Directive, WFD)
In the project area (Nybølle) west of Copenhagen there are many important wetlands and for the rivers quality criteria include that the are habitats for fish.
In the project DHI Wate & Environment has used their groundwater-surface water model complex (MIKE SHE -MIKE 11) to evaluate the dry season river flow in the Hove Å river basin and the groundwater level in the wetland areas.

Hydraulic assessment and evaluation of restoration options for the stream Nordkanal-Søborghus Rende
Storm-water overflow causes flooding and backwater effect that pollute the Lake Utterslev. A MIKE 11 model was used for analyzing the effects of change design of the stream and the lake outlet for reduction of pollution load to the lake, improving the fauna passage and prevented flooding.

A channel is planned to connect the Baba future reservoir with Baba Power Station. The channel passes 3 reaches where the channel needs to be protected. Using NS3 DHI investigated whether it is possible to use concrete blocks as scour protection on the slope of the trapezoidal channel.

Flood Protection Modelling Carrizal Chone
Modelling different alternatives for the Flood protection of the Carrizal-Chone Irrigation Project (13900 ha) under construction by Constructora Norberto Odebrecht S.A. MIKE 11 modelling system has been applied to simulate alternatives as longitudinal diques, increase hydraulic capacity of the river channels, use of natural depressions to store water, simulation of labyrinth weirs as flood control structures, meandering cuts, operation of the Simbocal barrage to control the salt intrusion.

Hydraulic study for GIFT Project
DHI carried out a modelling study for a planned Gujarat International Finance City (GIFT) between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. The study involved determination of design flood levels, design of barrages to create a waterfront at the GIFT City through hydrological and hydraulic modelling, a study of the potential sedimentation problems associated with the barrages, water quality issues and the drainage system around the city.

Numerical Analyses of a Labyrinth Weir

Opotiki MIKE 21C Confluence Morphological Modelling

Mitigation of flow distribution and sedimentation problems in the Klarälven delta in the city of Karlstad
Klarälven forms a delta at Karlstad. Sedimentation has been a problem at the first bifurcation in the delta, resulting in an unstable flow distribution. DHI studied with a morphological modeling whether this could be mitigated by a groyne field, while flooding was addressed with a floodplain model.
