Flooding

MIKE by DHI FloodingThe Release 2009 of MIKE FLOOD constitutes the first truly integrated flooding package that accommodates simultaneous urban and fluvial flooding by way of very flexible 3-way coupling. MIKE FLOOD couples the two 1D models for sewer and river networks (MIKE URBAN and MIKE 11) and the 2D overland flow model (MIKE 21) - or any combination thereof - providing flow transfers and feedback mechanisms between all three components in a fully integrated (dynamic) manner.

There is little doubt that flooding will become more frequent in the future. In this respect the new version of MIKE FLOOD is a very powerful tool regardless the cause being sea level rise or heavier rainfalls due to climate changes.

Combined with the multi-cell overland option or the multi-core version in MIKE 21 users may even see a significant reduction in the computational runtimes which otherwise may be rather demanding.
