Release 2008 of the water resources and groundwater software packages includes a range of new features that significantly increase the range and usability of these products. The new features include:
MIKE 11:
- The possibility to use ArcMAP to calculate the difference in results between two runs (MIKE 11 GIS);
- A linkage between point source layers in ArcMAP and point pollutant loads in MIKE 11 (MIKE 11 GIS);
- A significant number of new features in the Project Explorer for enhancing the usability;
- Much easier handling and management of model results data;
MIKE SHE:
- The ability to simulate water quality across the entire hydrologic cycle - from overland flow to unsaturated flow to saturated flow to channel flow - including advanced sorption and degradation of dissolved solutes;
- An improved, distributed rainfall-runoff model, with elevation corrected precipitation and a rigorous snow storage and snowmelt module;
- Improvements to the Unsaturated Zone (UZ) module, including a physically-based macro pore model;
- A series of user interface improvements, including the consolidation of climate input data and better access and visualization of pre-processed data.
MIKE BASIN:
- New, unique options for presenting customized graph and table overviews to aid in the dissemination of results;
- Comprehensive result statistics preparation for individual or categories of model features;
- New Advanced Symbology option for customizing the look of MIKE BASIN features according to type and category;
- Dynamic computation of agricultural water demand and crop yield (Based on FAO56/33, with several add-ons).
