| Competency Level |
Level 1 |
| Introduction |
In this intensive course attendees will learn about the surface water, soil and groundwater processes and linkages in the MIKE SHE modelling system. At the end of the course, you will be able to conceptualise problems and subsequently develop models with MIKE SHE |
| What will you learn? |
The course will cover the following topics:
- The hydrologic processes simulated by MIKE SHE
- The mechanisms used to couple the hydrologic processes in MIKE SHE
- Basic hydraulic flow modelling in streams and canals using MIKE 11
- Setting up a model in MIKE SHE
- Evaluation of results of an integrated groundwater/surface water model
- Calibration strategies for an integrated model, including a brief introduction to automatic calibration tools
|
| Who should attend? |
This course is intended as an introduction for existing MIKE 11 or groundwater modellers (using eg MODFLOW) who wish to expand their knowledge to include integrated surface-groundwater modelling. |
| Prerequisites |
A knowledge of MIKE 11 and/or groundwater modelling would be an advantage. |
| Course structure |
