Integrated 1D and 2D urban and open channel flood modelling (urban focus)
Each year worldwide, flooding causes severe damage to property and infrastructure, forcing people to evacuate their homes and resulting in severe economic on affected communities. Flooding often occurs as a result of insufficient storm drainage capacity, river overflows, storm surge and often as a combination of these phenomena. DHI Water & Environment has developed MIKE FLOOD, which encompasses the well known modelling systems MIKE URBAN, MIKE 11 and MIKE 21, to make reliable flood modelling possible.
During the two days training course participants will learn how to build urban flood models using MIKE FLOOD (MIKE URBAN, MIKE 11 and MIKE 21). Additionally, the course covers techniques to effectively process and present the modelling results for client presentation.
The course will cover the following topics:
The course does not cover building MIKE URBAN and MIKE 11 models but will present an overview of each system.
