| Introduction |
This course covers the use of DHI’s 2D hydrodynamic modelling system, MIKE 21. The course covers the theoretical background to the model, and it’s typical application, including overland flow and estuary modelling. |

- Theoretical background to MIKE 21
- Mathematical formulation and solution technique
- Data needs and preparation
- Geographical projections
- Boundary conditions
- Bed roughness and eddy viscosity
- Results presentation and animations

This course is aimed at professionals undertaking 2D hydrodynamic modelling studies for inland or coastal applications. |
| Prerequisites |
No formal prerequisites but a knowledge of basic hydraulics would be an advantage. |
