MIKE 21 M-101

Introduction to 2D Flow Modelling
Competency Level Level 1
Introduction

This course covers the use of DHI’s 2D hydrodynamic modelling system, MIKE 21. The course covers the theoretical background to the model, and it’s typical application, including overland flow and estuary modelling.

What will you learn?

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Theoretical background to MIKE 21
  • Mathematical formulation and solution technique
  • Data needs and preparation
  • Geographical projections
  • Boundary conditions
  • Bed roughness and eddy viscosity
  • Results presentation and animations
Who should attend? This course is aimed at professionals undertaking 2D hydrodynamic modelling studies for inland or coastal applications.
