Advanced hydrodynamic river and channel modelling
Competency Level Level 2
Introduction

This course is a natural extension to Course R-101 and is intended for those users who require further insight in hydrodynamic modelling and need to simulate more complicated river and canal systems.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Floodplain modelling
  • Stability issues
  • Modelling weirs, culverts and bridges, reservoirs
  • Energy losses
  • Calibration techniques.
  • Importing/exporting data
  • Tips and tricks to making modelling easier
  • Introduction to rainfall/runoff modelling
Who should attend? Floodplain modellers looking to expand their knowledge and skill set.
Prerequisites Attendees should either have completed Course R-101 or have a sound knowledge of MIKE 11.
