ECO Lab MIKE 11/21 R-104

1D and 2D Ecological and Water Quality Modelling
Competency Level Level 3
Introduction

This 2 day course will teach the fundamentals of ecological modelling and give you an introduction how to develop your own ecosystem models using the ECO Lab editor and integrate this to MIKE 11/21 ECO Lab. Application examples using predefined ecosystem descriptions (DHI supported ECO Lab templates) of water quality will be examined. The course is intended for professionals in environmental engineering and management in the public or private sector working with water quality in rivers, channels and open water bodies. The participants should have a background in applied water quality aspects and/or biology. The course provides, through case studies and hands-on training, the participants with a good basis for using MIKE 11/21 ECO Lab to obtain accurate spatial predictions of aquatic ecosystem response.

What will you learn?

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Fundamentals of ecological modelling
  • Introduction to ECO Lab
  • Dialog overview
  • Introduction to existing ECO Lab templates
  • Guidelines for ecological model development
