On July 1st DHI Vietnam opens in Hanoi. This signifies an important change as the current representation office is turned into a subsidiary of DHI Group for provision of a wider range of services and products in Vietnam.
‘We have had a formal presence in the country since 2007 when we registered a so-called “Representation Office” staffed with Mr. Duong Quoc Vinh (in Hanoi) and Ms. Tran Hong Hanh (in Ho Chi Minch City). Vinh and Hanh have really helped pave the way and have generated increased respect and visibility of DHI in Vietnam’ says Asger Kej, DHI Group CEO.
DHI has worked for years in Vietnam not least with capacity building such as the comprehensive Danida-funded five year programme strengthening the professional services and sustainability of the leading Vietnamese water resource institutes. This has helped making DHI’s products a leading brand in the sector but we need to further develop our local services to continue our assistance to Vietnam’s development.
‘The Vietnamese economy is developing rapidly and there is a steadily growing market for our kind of services and technologies to support the further development of Vietnam - a country of 80 million people with a very long coast line and with plenty of water resources and environmental management challenges, including climate change adaptation’ says Duong Quoc Vinh, Managing Director, DHI Vietnam
