DHI has now opened its next international office – through the formal registration of a subsidiary company, DHI Brazil Ltda. in Curitiba, State of Paraná, Brazil. For many years DHI has been active in Brazil, mainly on coastal engineering and harbour projects. In recent years also the urban and water resources sectors have shown a steady growth. Hydro power optimisation and waste water treatment plant operation are new areas requested by Brazilian authorities. ‘We are delighted that we can now serve all our Brazilian customers with our local presence and our global knowledge on water” says Alejandro Lasarte, Managing Director of DHI Brazil Ltda.

The opening of DHI Brazil Ltda. coincided with two Brazilian-Danish Clean Tech conferences last week in Curitiba and São Paulo. The Danish delegation was headed by the Danish Minister of the Environment Mr. Troels Lund Poulsen and included 9 Danish Clean Tech companies including DHI.

The local organizers were the Brazilian confederation of Industries (FIESP), Brazilian World Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS), Grupo Banco Santander, Confederation of Industries in Curitiba (FIEP), BrazBiz.dk and the Danish Consulates in Curitiba and São Paulo.

More than 300 conference participants were present and listened to presentations of Danish Clean Tech technology. Subsequently a large number of individual business-to-business meetings were held and many follow up activities agreed.
