02 Mar 2005   A new type of product, a mixture of phytoplankton pigments is available.

A new type of product, a mixture of phytoplankton pigments, is available from DHI Water and Environment. The mixed pigments can be used for quality assurance when controlling the daily separation of the individual pigments analysed by HPLC, the HPLC system performance, and the calibration when analysing sets of samples with different pigment content.

Each vial contains more than 20 different pigments:

chlorophyll c3, chlorophyll c2, pheophorbide a, peridinin, 19’-butanoyloxyfucoxanthin, fucoxanthin, neoxanthin, prasinoxanthin, violaxanthin, 19’-hexanoyloxyfucoxanthin, diadinoxanthin, alloxanthin, diatoxanthin, zeaxanthin, lutein, MV& DV chlorophyll b, MV & DV chlorophyll a, pheophytin a, alpha- and beta-carotene.

The pigments are dissolved in 90% acetone and distributed in HPLC vials each containing 1.00 ml and nitrogen atmosphere. The total chlorophyll a concentration (measured by spectrophotometer) is approx. 10 µg/ml.

The price is 590 DKK (approximately 80 EUR) for 5 (minimum quantum sold), excl. shipping (no quantum discount is provided on the mixed pigments).
