We are currently seeking experienced self-motivated Senior Engineers/Scientists to play a leading role in leading and working with our modelling team within the areas of EcoHydraulics.
We have opportunities in the Perth Office working on iconic projects for the Oil and Gas Industry with specific focus on ecological impacts on coral and seagrass from dredging and other civil works in the marine environment.
In Brisbane and the Gold Coast we have the opportunity to work on ecohydraulic modelling on a range of projects within the iconic areas of Morten Bay wetland (a listed Ramsar site) and other development projects with potential interactions with the Great Barrier Reef.
The position has significant client interaction and will be involved in supporting and training the extensive DHI Software User community in Australia. Our client base includes many Local, State and Federal authorities and a large number of private consulting organisations. The position will provide you with the opportunity and support to advance your career through a high level of exposure to many sectors of the water industry.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated ability and willingness to solve challenging problems, over 7 years experience in marine modelling. Research-based postgraduate qualifications and a demonstrated capability to use, develop, modify and calibrate hydraulic and environmental models would be highly regarded.
A generous salary package for this position will be negotiated with the successful applicant, depending on experience, qualifications and in-line with industry standards.
Essential Criteria
- Technical report writing
- Demonstrated experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Hydraulic modeling in Marine Environments
- Ecological modeling in marine environments
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication
Desirable Criteria
- Postgraduate or research experience with associated refereed publications
- Understanding of the physical and ecological processes associated with estuarine systems
- Geographical Information System (GIS) experience
- Consulting experience will be well regarded
